GRADUATE PROGRAM ASSISTANTSHIPS

We have several Teaching Assistantships available on a competitive basis.

If you are awarded an Assistantship, course tuition is waived and you receive a nine-month stipend of approximately $13,000 for assisting in one of our courses, generally either Principles of Life Sciences (BIOL 10504/10514) or Contemporary Issues in Biology (BIOL 10003). In addition, M.S. students may apply for a competitive internal grant to provide about $3,000 of support for one summer to do their thesis research. The Department also provides up to $1,000 of support for graduate students to attend a scientific meeting and present their thesis research.
